Here’s what you need to know about our upcoming union election to unite with over 2,700 other Sharp HealthCare workers who are already in SEIU-UHW!

When is our union election?

Our election is on July 16, 17, and 18.

What times can I vote on those days?

These are the time blocks for voting:

Tues., July 16:
6am – 9am
11am – 2pm
6pm – 8pm

Wed., July 17:
6am – 8am
11am – 2pm
6pm – 8pm

Thurs., July 18:
6am – 8am
11am – 2pm

These are the correct, official voting times (Sharp HealthCare has been posting incorrect times for Wednesday and Thursday mornings).

Where do I vote?

Voting will take place in the Knollwood Building Auditorium, which is located at 7944 Birmingham Drive.

Can I vote online, by mail, or via text?

No. Your vote must be cast in-person during the days and times above.

Do I need to bring anything in order to vote?

Yes! You must show your Sharp employee ID badge or a government-issued ID in order to vote.

My manager is saying that not showing up to vote results in an automatic yes vote. Is that true?

No. The only way to cast a vote is by doing so in person.

My manager is saying that if I vote yes to unionize I won’t receive a raise. Is that true?

No. The only reason you wouldn’t receive raises is if Sharp refuses to pay them — and uses the union as their excuse. If Sharp is so eager to give us raises, let’s lock them in as guarantees in a union contract.

If anyone from Sharp management threatens you for unionizing, report the incident to a member of our SEIU-UHW Organizing Committee right away.

I need a ride to cast my vote. What should I do?

If you need a ride, call our Union Election Hotline at 619-330-3004. We’ll be happy to transport you to and from the election!

If you have any other questions, ask any of your co-workers on the SEIU-UHW Organizing Committee or call our Union Election Hotline at 619-330-3004.
