LOS ANGELES – Healthcare workers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center have secured a strong new contract, ensuring the hospital can continue to provide quality patient care while maintaining good healthcare jobs. Through dedicated efforts, healthcare workers and Cedars-Sinai reached an agreement that strengthens frontline workers’ voices in patient care and staffing decisions, preserves affordable healthcare coverage, and secures well-earned raises for those who provide lifesaving care every day.
“At a time of great uncertainty in healthcare, we came together and reached a strong contract that improves working conditions and patient care,” said Yudis Cruz, a clinical partner at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. “This agreement maintains affordable healthcare for our families, strengthens our ability to advocate for safe staffing levels, and provides well-deserved raises that recognize our dedication. By working together, we achieved real progress, and we hope to continue ensuring that Cedars-Sinai executives listen to frontline healthcare workers in the future.”
The agreement highlights the power of healthcare workers standing together to advocate for better working conditions and to ensure quality patient care. As hospitals nationwide face growing challenges, this contract demonstrates the importance of collaboration in protecting quality care and ensuring that those on the frontlines have the support they need to continue their critical work.
The newly ratified three-year contract covers more than 1,200 SEIU-UHW members at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, including clinical partners, transporters, food service technicians, environmental services staff, and surgical technicians.
