When Kaiser began acting like an economic bully with our union co-workers, our SEIU-UHW leadership said ‘enough is enough’ and called on our 58,000 members to prepare for the largest sympathy strikes in the country.
Kaiser used to partner with labor, but was demanding major anti-worker concessions from our union co-workers, despite raking in billions in profits and paying dozens of executives million-dollar-salaries.
These contract victories for our union coworkers are a huge win for labor solidarity but we can’t let up now. The healthcare worker shortage and the resulting patient care crisis require Kaiser to invest more in good jobs, not less.
With our own contract negotiations just around the corner, we must reject Kaiser’s drive for profits over people and stand united to get it back on track for a better future for our patients, ourselves, and our communities.
