  Enloe Workers Announce Strike - Read August 1, 2008 Press Release

Update: Enloe Healthcare Workers Agree to Rescind Strike Notice
 
On Thursday, Aug. 7, Enloe Medical Center in Chico and hospital caregivers represented by United Healthcare Workers released the following joint statement:
 
At the conclusion of contract negotiations yesterday, federal mediator David Weinberg recommended that, in light of the parties' progress toward agreement on key issues, the 10-day strike notice previously announced by SEIU-UHW would be rescinded. The Union agreed to the mediator's recommendation, and Enloe and the Union will continue to work toward a mutually acceptable contract for Enloe's service unit employees.
 
Enloe and SEIU-UHW are finalizing dates for the next bargaining sessions, but dates have not yet been set.
